Funding cut - but you can help

Photo, captioned "stop the cuts to walking and cycling", showing closed footpaths and cycle lanes
In March, ministers cut two-thirds of England’s dedicated funding for walking, wheeling and cycling, the cheapest and most effective forms of local travel in a cost of living crisis. Transport Action Network want to challenge this in court, and need your support to start the process off.
The Government's latest climate plan shows the UK is set to miss its 2030 target due to carbon emissions from road transport. But the court case is about far more than just climate change. The slashing of this vital budget is also set to scupper new air quality targets to cut exposure to deadly particulates that damage children's lungs and older people’s brains in particular.
Please support the Crowdfunder - any contribution will help - you can read more about the story in the Guardian article or dig into the details with Cycling UK.

RideLondon

RideLondon passing through Ongar
Thousands of riders and local residents enjoyed the RideLondon event on 28 May, and we were blessed with gorgeous weather.

Huge amount of money were raised for charities. Shops and cafes in Epping, Ongar and along the route were bustling.
But inspiring people isn't enough: what will keep them cycling if our streets aren't safe every day?

Meeting - 14 June - all welcome

Our next meeting is at the Plume of Feathers in Loughton this Wednesday 14 June at 7:30pm. Pop in for a chat about how we can campaign for safer streets, better transport and healthier neighbourhoods.
