Notice of Annual General Meeting
Dear subscriber,
Please come along to our annual meeting at the Lopping Hall in Loughton at 19:45 on Monday 25 March.

It’s walking distance from Loughton Tube Station, on the number 66 bus route from Waltham Abbey, and on the number 20 route for supporters in Buckhurst Hill or Debden. There’s parking opposite in ‘High Beech Car Park’.

To find the meeting, go upstairs and follow signs for the Willingale Room.

The agenda will be:
  1. Reflections since the last AGM
  2. Treasurer’s report
  3. Election of officers
  4. AOB - please let us know if there is an issue that you would like to add to the agenda
This year we have some committee vacancies to fill due to people moving out of the area, and we are, as ever, eager to bring on board volunteers to help us plan and run our campaign.

We need just a little of your time to keep the campaign running.

If you’re interested in being a more active part of EFTAG, please reply to this email or just turn up on the day, everyone is welcome!

EFTAG has:

  • Met with Town, District and County Councillors to raise awareness of the need, and demand, for better and more active travel infrastructure in Loughton
  • Highlighted defective and missing infrastructure, leading to:
    • The cycle route on Staples Road, Loughton no longer being obstructed by a raised kerb
    • The obsolete cycle racks outside Job Centre Plus in Loughton being replaced with new Sheffield Stands.
    • Cycle parking being added to lamp posts up Loughton High Road.
    • Successfully lobbied to have public footpaths with long standing defects repaired and re-opened.
  • Been an active member of the Epping Forest Consultative Committee and through it, worked with other local groups to lobby for better provision to access our Forest by foot, by bike and by bus.
  • Worked with Council officers to challenge Highways schemes to deliver better provision for a broader range of road users.
If these things matter to you, or you wish that list was longer, we’d love to have you join in! Our local voice is our power and with your help, Epping Forest can have better transport and safer streets.
Thanks for reading, we look forward to seeing you next month
