Campaigning for better public transport and safer streets in Epping Forest.
Save the 250 and 251
Dear <<Comms name>>,
As you might have heard Essex County Council have proposed withdrawing their funding for the 250 and 251 bus routes, from Waltham Cross to Debden and Upshire respectively, on Mondays to Saturdays.
If this goes ahead there will be no services from Waltham Cross, through Waltham Abbey and Loughton or back after 7.30pm.
The last bus from Waltham Cross will be the 66, leaving at 18.48, returning from Loughton via Debden – missing Loughton High Road altogether – at 19.21.
This would be devastating for people who work in our pubs and restaurants, work shifts in warehouses, and anybody who wants to socialise in a nearby town, or attend community meetings – such as EFTAG’s – without driving.

If you’re on Facebook there’s a post with the video and a link to the website campaign page which you can share: Help save the 250 & 251
The most important thing at the moment is to complete the Essex County Council consultation, which closes on Monday 3rd July.
Lunchtime Rally
On Monday 3rd July we’re holding a lunchtime rally in Waltham Abbey Market Square, from 12.30 – 13.30.
The rally is to raise awareness of the 250/251 campaign and to mark the start of Catch the Bus Week, a national week of action to encourage people to use the bus.
